LASK reached the Champions League league phase for the first time after beating Celtic 5-1 after extra time and winning the tie 5-4 on aggregate. Celtic arrived with a 3-0 first-leg advantage and then scored first through Callum McGregor.
The first turning point was LASK's response before belief disappeared. Moses Usor pulled one back, and Robert Ljubičić made it 2-1 early in the second half. The deficit was still large, but the match had changed from damage limitation into sustained pressure.
The second was the late sequence. Samuel Adeniran scored from distance before Florian Flecker's stoppage-time header levelled the aggregate score. Celtic failed to close the spaces that mattered when the game demanded control rather than another attack.
The final turn came in extra time, when Adeniran scored again in the 109th minute. The lesson is larger than one collapse: protecting a lead requires control of territory, rest defence and emotional tempo. A three-goal cushion cannot perform those tasks by itself.
